Industrial Chainstitch Sewing Machines

Choose an industrial chainstitch machine by the operation it must perform: parallel garment seams, multiple stitch rows, waistband sewing, belt-loop strip making or shirring. Compare seven SAFE configurations below, then check the complete model and attachments against your sample.

Selection notes

What does your production task require?

Start with the finished seam.

For two or three parallel chainstitch rows, compare SF-3802D with SF-3803D-P. The latter explicitly includes a puller. Send the face and underside of the seam, fabric layers and required distance between rows.

Match the waistband or belt-loop operation.

SF-1508P is a four-needle waistband configuration. SF-B-2000C-UTC makes belt-loop strips; its tape cutter is optional. Making a strip and attaching the finished loop to trousers are separate operations. For attachment, compare SF-8254 belt-loop sewing equipment.

Choose multi-needle rows deliberately.

Compare the 12-needle SF-1412P and 25-needle SF-VC008-25064VPQ-D by the stitch-row layout and material handling. More needles do not automatically make a machine the right choice for a garment. Needle gauge and supplied attachments matter.

Separate shirring from regular-thread stitching.

SF-1302-4W is the chainstitch shirring model here. SF-1412P uses regular upper and lower sewing thread; it should not be described as an elastic-looper version. Send an actual gathered sample and the relaxed and stretched dimensions you need.

Before you enquire

Common selection questions.

Which chainstitch machine should I choose for jeans?

It depends on the operation. Compare SF-3802D or SF-3803D-P for parallel seams, SF-1508P for waistband sewing, and SF-B-2000C-UTC for belt-loop strip making. Confirm fabric thickness, seam construction and the complete configuration.

Is a chainstitch machine the same as a coverstitch machine?

These catalogue categories address different seam and finishing tasks. Start with the finished seam and its underside. For tubular knitwear hems and coverstitch operations, compare the SAFE industrial coverstitch range.

Does the belt-loop maker include automatic cutting?

The SF-B-2000C-UTC catalogue lists the tape cutter as optional. Include the required strip width, finished loop length and cutting requirement in your enquiry.

What information is needed for a chainstitch machine quotation?

Send the model if known, fabric composition and layers, a seam photograph or sample, needle spacing, required attachments, electrical supply, quantity and destination. The final quotation confirms the supplied configuration.
