Choose an overlock machine around the material, seam construction and handling steps in your production line. SAFE offers industrial models with different feed and control arrangements, supported by catalogue specifications and application review.
Industrial sergers and overlockers for garment edges.
Serger or overlocker?
An industrial serger and an industrial overlocker are common buyer terms for overlock equipment. Select the actual needle/thread configuration, seam width and feed arrangement for joining or finishing the garment edge. The SAFE range includes automatic trimming and small-cylinder configurations.
Feed and bed shape.
For a 4-thread overlock machine, compare SF-C7-4AT and SF-TK7-4AT against the required seam. SF-K9-4AT provides an automatic thread-trimming overlock machine option. SF-KT-5100-4AT is the small-cylinder selection for narrow tubular sections.

Request a quotation for the complete model and attachments. State the fabric, thread arrangement, seam sample, quantity, electrical supply and destination. Trimming, lifting and auxiliary devices should be listed explicitly.
Check feeding on the actual fabric.
Send the fabric composition, stretch, layer count and a photograph of the seam. Include any difficulty with stretching, gathering or crossing thicker sections. Discuss these requirements during sample review so that the feeding setup can be assessed against your production task. Results depend on the material, thread, adjustment and operator handling.
Is overlock the same as coverstitch?
They serve different seam requirements. Overlock equipment works at the fabric edge for the selected joining or finishing operation. Coverstitch equipment is selected for the required knitwear hem, seaming or binding configuration. Send the finished seam sample; some garments need both operations.

Send your fabric, seam photo or drawing, finished dimensions, quantity and electrical supply. Include the complete machine model if you already have a preference.
Compare thread configurations and handling functions
The SF-747D-3 uses one needle and three threads; the SF-747D-4 uses two needles and four threads; the SF-747D-5 uses two needles and five threads. Direct drive describes the motor arrangement, while automatic trimming and foot lifting must be checked separately.
